Glenveagh Properties to Sponsor Irish Times Fantasy Rugby Series for 2019

  • Game will run for 8-week periods during 6 Nations and World Cup

  • Sponsorship will give Glenveagh exposure to one million Irish Times readers

In what promises to be a momentous year for Irish rugby it’s been announced that Glenveagh Properties PLC is to sponsor The Irish Times ‘Fantasy Rugby’ game for 2019.

Glenveagh, which is one of the country’s leading house builders, has agreed to sponsor the ‘Fantasy Six Nations’ which kicks off next week as well as ‘Fantasy Rugby World Cup’ which kicks off in the autumn.

Laughlin Rigby, Marketing Director of Glenveagh said the main aim of the sponsorship was to raise brand awareness.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved in what promises to be an amazing year for Irish rugby and to interact with Irish Times readers. Of course, it’s also an opportunity to raise awareness of the new homes and communities Glenveagh is creating. Forty per-cent of total first-time buyers in Ireland are weekly readers of The Irish Times and Irishtimes.com and in total this initiative will give Glenveagh exposure to one million Irish Times readers. With those kinds of numbers, we knew it was an ideal way to reach out to our target audience.”

The Irish Times ‘Fantasy Rugby Game’ is the biggest game of its kind in Ireland and regularly attracts over 20,000 players each year. ‘Fantasy Six Nations’ will run for an eight-week period from now until the 23rd of March while ‘Fantasy World Cup’ will run for another eight-week period from September to November.
