Role – Finance Manager – Glenveagh Homes

Reporting to – Group Financial Controller

Contract Type – Contract – 15 months

Glenveagh Properties PLC, a leading residential homebuilder is currently recruiting an experienced finance professional to take up the role of Finance Manager for our Glenveagh Homes (Homes) business to be based in our Maynooth Head Office. The successful candidate will report to the Group Financial Controller and this is an excellent opportunity to take up a key role in the Group Finance Function in one of Ireland’s fastest growing PLCs. The role provides the right candidate an opportunity to play a significant part in the Group Finance team by being the key point of contact for the Homes business functions and to play an important role in the Group’s ERP implementation.

Main responsibilities

  • End to End Finance Lead for the Homes business requiring collaboration with all business functions to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting for the Group’s primary trading entity
  • Play a significant role in the implementation and embedding of the Group’s ERP system to include detailed testing and problem solving through collaboration with other departments
  • Liaise with Quantity Surveyors on active construction projects to ensure all sub-contractor costs are reported accurately on a monthly basis
  • Work closely with the Group’s central procurement function to ensure smooth month end process
  • Liaise with the Group’s in house sales team and legal advisors in order to obtain all relevant documentation for house sales to ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue recognition
  • Partner with other departments to ensure all departmental costs are accurately reported on a monthly basis which will include detailed review and analysis
  • Perform month end close responsibilities such as preparing journal entries and P&L/balance sheet reconciliations for submission to the Group Financial Controller in line with the month end timeline
  • Continually evaluate processes and champion improvements
  • Assist in the preparation of Monthly Financial Reports, Annual Financial Statements and any other internal or external reports required, ensuring that they are completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and assist with all queries
  • Perform other related tasks as required

Qualifications and Skills

  • ACA/ACCA qualified preferably with Big 4 background
  • 2+ years PQE
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics / 4PS Construct an advantage
  • Proven track record of process improvement
  • Ability to multi-task across several workstreams and meet tight deadlines
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills a prerequisite
  • Operational finance experience in a start-up or construction environment an advantage
  • Proven aptitude to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders (including non-finance professionals)
