We have recently teamed up with Biodiversity in Schools, Ireland’s leading provider of biodiversity education for young people to bring a ‘Green Day’ to local primary and secondary schools where we build. The Biodiversity in Schools team have an experienced team of educators to visit schools including teachers, horticulturists and scientists delivering the highest quality in nature education.

The Biodiversity in School team offer a range of programmes including Biodiversity Bootcamps, The Hidden Zoo and the Pollinator Project– all expertly designed to explore each season with a mix of games, exploration, and everyone’s favourite ‘hands-on’ activity! There is also the option to choose a range of options including virtual and fully-outdoor workshop.

The content of each workshop takes its lead from the changing seasons throughout the year and when certain elements of biodiversity are at their best, e.g.: Winter – Birds, Spring – Bugs, Summer – Pollinators and Autumn – Trees.

A typical example of a summer workshop would involve training a class group as pollinator ambassadors for their school, teaching them to identify Ireland’s pollinators such as bees and butterflies, going on a pollinator walk to find and study species and finally taking action to help them by planning a wildflower meadow or planting bee-friendly flowers.
