Inspiring Future Talent at Maynooth University

As part of our partnership with Maynooth University, Glenveagh was delighted to attend Campus Day, an exciting event that welcomed 70 secondary school students to experience university life and explore future educational opportunities.

The day provided students with a valuable opportunity to engage with both university volunteers and industry professionals, gaining insight into higher education while developing practical skills through a collaborative design challenge.

    A Hands-On Design Challenge

Working alongside mentors from Glenveagh and volunteers from Maynooth University, students took part in an interactive design activity focused on creating a bike shed for commuting students.

The challenge encouraged participants to think creatively, consider real-world needs, and develop innovative solutions. Students worked in teams to design concepts that balanced functionality, sustainability, and user experience, while also building their problem-solving and teamwork skills.

    Creativity and Collaboration on Display

It was fantastic to witness the enthusiasm and creativity demonstrated throughout the day. Students embraced the challenge with confidence, sharing thoughtful ideas and working collaboratively to bring their concepts to life.

The quality of the designs and the level of engagement shown by participants highlighted the talent, imagination, and potential of the next generation.

    Experiencing Campus Life

Beyond the design activity, the event gave students the opportunity to experience university life first-hand. They were able to explore the campus environment, meet students from other schools, and gain a better understanding of the opportunities available through higher education.

The event also provided a valuable platform for networking, collaboration, and learning, helping students build confidence as they consider their future pathways.

    Investing in Future Generations

At Glenveagh, we are passionate about supporting education initiatives that inspire young people and help them develop the skills needed for future careers. Through partnerships such as this with Maynooth University, we are proud to contribute to experiences that encourage creativity, innovation, and personal growth.

We would like to thank Maynooth University, the volunteers, and all of the students who participated in making the day such a success. We look forward to continuing to support opportunities that empower the next generation.
