Glenveagh Properties PLC is a leading Irish homebuilder listed on Euronext Dublin and the London Stock Exchange.
Following its successful €550m IPO and €214m follow-on Capital Raise, Glenveagh has assembled a compelling 11,000+ unit landbank for building to capitalise on the favourable market backdrop which exists within the Irish residential sector. With a focus on strategically located developments in the Greater Dublin Area, Cork, Limerick and Galway, the Group comprises two complementary divisions, Glenveagh Homes and Glenveagh Living.
Glenveagh Homes' delivers high quality starter homes to its private customers with selective developments of mid-size and executive houses and apartments in areas of high demand. The business has commenced construction on 12 sites, with 800 units under construction during 2018. Glenveagh Homes has assembled a pipeline of 9,520 units with a 2,000 unit per annum output target by 2023.
Glenveagh Living delivers houses and apartments for the public sector and institutional investors. The Partnerships business focusses on mixed-tenure and joint venture opportunities with the public sector in Ireland. The PRS business delivers large-scale private rental product for institutional investors and currently possesses a pipeline of 1,850 units.
The Group has significant operational capabilities with headcount increasing form 85 permanent employees at IPO to c.230. Approximately 80% of new recruitment has been in construction, health and safety and commercial departments.
Formed in 2017, Glenveagh Properties PLC’s journey of success has its origins with Bridgedale in 2003. Stephen Garvey founded Bridgedale in 2003, to focus on constructing residential developments in the Greater Dublin Area. In 2014, backed by TIO/Oaktree to develop homes for the Irish residential market, Bridgedale grew its management team and infrastructure, reaching 85 full time employees with a network of 650 contractors by 2017.
On 13th October 2017, Co-Founders John Mulcahy, Justin Bickle and Stephen Garvey floated Glenveagh Properties PLC on the Irish and London Stock Exchanges.
Glenveagh Properties (Holdings) Limited acquired Bridgedale with all its assets and undertakings, and rebranded the company as Glenveagh Homes to continue to scale its housing development operations. At the same time, Glenveagh Living was formed to undertake joint ventures and partnerships to deliver housing for the Irish State, social and affordable housing for approved housing bodies, and to deliver private rental units for institutional pension funds.

John Mulcahy is a Chartered Surveyor who has over 40years’ experience in the Irish real estate sector. His current roles include Chairman of Irish Property Unit Trust (IPUT) and being a member of the Boards of TIO ICAV and Quinta do Lago S.A., a Portuguese resort developer. Previously, he was a member of the Board (from 2012 to 2014), and Head of Asset Management (from 2011 to 2014) at National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) and prior to that, was Chairman and CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle’s (JLL) operations in Ireland from 2002 to 2010. John was also a founding member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Asset Valuations Standards Committee and the Property Advisory Committee of the National Pension Reserve Fund.
Justin Bickle has over 22 years’ senior level experience in the private equity, legal, finance and property fields. He was a founding member and Managing Director of Oaktree’s European Private Equity team for twelve years, with approximately $6.9 billion assets under management. He had significant Board experience of Oaktree’s operational real estate portfolio companies in the UK and Europe and their activities including residential housebuilding, retirement housebuilding, student accommodation and aparthotels. Justin is also Chairman of TIO ICAV. He is formerly a Partner in the Financial Restructuring department at US law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham and Taft LLP and was for four years an Executive Fellow in Finance at London Business School. He is also a UK Solicitor.
Stephen Garvey has over 20 years’ experience in the construction and property industry in Ireland. His experience includes working with many of the large Irish property developers, including Menolly Homes, Schelester Properties, Glenman Corporation and McCabe Builders. Stephen was the founder of Bridgedale which focused on constructing residential developments in the Greater Dublin Area from 2003. In his role at Bridgedale, he sourced and negotiated the acquisitions of development sites, secured external finance, formulated and implemented business plans for each project and managed the overall delivery of residential units. Between 2014 and 2017 Bridgedale were responsible for advising and managing Oaktree’s residential projects in Ireland.
Michael Rice has responsibility for the Group’s finance and IT functions, including the management of financial and IT risks, internal and external reporting requirements and key financial decision making. He has over 13 years’ of financial and accountancy experience, 5 of which were in the construction and property sector in Ireland and overseas. Michael was previously Group Financial Controller of Kingspan PLC.
Wesley is a chartered surveyor and joined Glenveagh at the end of January 2018. Wesley heads up Land and Portfolio Management focusing on acquiring new land sites and also actively asset managing Glenveagh’s multi-year land bank. Wesley previously worked at CBRE in various capacities for 17 years. Most recently Wesley led CBRE’s commercial and residential land and residential capital markets team in Dublin as Executive Director.
Shane Scully is responsible for leading the Group’s Glenveagh Living line of business. He has 17 years of senior level experience in property, construction and development and is a graduate of Limerick Institute of Technology where he studied Property Valuation and Management. Shane is a Chartered Surveyor and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.
Diarmuid is a specialist strategic HR professional and joined Glenveagh in January 2018. Diarmuid is responsible for the for the Group’s HR function. He was formerly International HR Director at Marathon Oil Corporation accountable for all strategic HR functions in Africa, Canada, the United Kingdom, Kurdistan, and the Gulf of Mexico. Diarmuid has over 25 years’ experience across all different industries, in Ireland and internationally.
Chloe McCarthy is responsible for the Group’s company secretarial function. She is an ICSA qualified Company Secretary and a Barrister-at- Law in Ireland. Following 2 years’ practice at the Bar, Chloe left Ireland and gained experience in commercial law at international firms including Taylor Wessing in London and Allens Linklaters in Sydney. Most recently, Chloe was Assistant Company Secretary at Aegon Ireland PLC.
Conor has responsibility for our Investor Relations function and works closely with the Company’s CEO and CFO to assist with executing corporate strategy. Conor joined Glenveagh in February 2018 from Investec Corporate Finance. An ACCA qualified accountant with 10 years’ corporate finance experience at Investec and NCB Group, Conor has advised corporates, PLCs and private equity clients on mergers and acquisitions, disposals, fundraisings and financings.
Lady Barbara Judge, CBE, has over 35 years’ experience in the financial, legal and property industries. She is currently Chairman of the UK Institute of Directors, was appointed by the UK Prime Minister as a UK Business Ambassador in 2009 and completed her second term as Chairman of the UK Pension Protection Fund in 2016. She is also the Chairman of Cifas, the UK membership organisation specialising in the prevention of fraud and financial crime, and Chairman Emeritus of the UK Atomic Energy Authority. Lady Judge previously served as a Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, as a director of Samuel Montagu & Co in Hong Kong and as Founder and Chairman of Private Equity Investor PLC. Lady Judge has significant experience in the real estate sector, including her previous positions on the boards of Quintain Estates and Development PLC and Richard Ellis International (now CBRE). Lady Judge is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and received a Juris Doctor degree with honours from New York University Law School. She was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2010.
Robert Dix was formerly a partner and head of Transaction Services at KPMG Ireland until his retirement in 2008. He currently operates his own ﬁrm, Sopal Limited, which advises organisations on capital markets, corporate governance and strategic planning issues. Robert is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. In addition to his role with the Group, Robert is a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Bank of Ireland Private Bank and Quinn Property Group. He is a Director and Chairman of the audit committee of Allianz PLC and Dalata Hotel Group PLC, and holds Non-Executive Directorships at a number of other companies. Robert is Chairman of the Group’s Audit and Risk Committee.
Richard Cherry was formerly a Director and Chief Executive of the Partnerships business at UK housebuilder Countryside, where he worked for over 35 years until his retirement in September 2017. He served on the main Board for 30 years and previously held the roles of Group New Business Director and Deputy Chairman. He has signiﬁcant experience in the real estate sector, including in the execution of partnership projects with public authorities and housing associations. Richard is a graduate of the University of Reading and is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). He is Chairman of the Group’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
Caleb Kramer is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager (Europe) at Oaktree Capital Management (UK) LLP. Prior to joining Oaktree in 2000, Caleb co-founded Seneca Capital Partners LLC, a private equity investment ﬁrm. From 1994 to 1996, Caleb was employed by Archon Capital Partners, an investment ﬁrm. Prior to 1994, Caleb was an Associate in mergers and acquisitions at Dillon Read & Co. and an Analyst at Merrill Lynch and Co. Inc. Caleb received a B.A. Degree in Economics from the University of Virginia.
