Glenveagh moves its fleet to Electric Vehicles

At Glenveagh we make continuous reductions in our carbon footprint. 

We're updating our fleet to electric vehicles. 
-25% of the fleet is electric powered
-90% of the fleet will be electric powered by Q2 2022

EV's have zero tailpipe emissions and they save pedestrians and cyclists from breathing in dangerous gases. 

The vehicles are delivered with a certified net carbon neutral balance from TUV Nord.

The elimination of tailpipe emissions has a direct effect on our air quality. EV's don't emit harmful gases like NOx or particulates which are harmful to the human respiratory system. Furthermore, EV's are far less noisy, the elimination of engine noise makes our environment a lot more peaceful.

We're fitting EV chargers in fleet drivers' homes and in the office. Our on-site chargers are powered by green energy. We estimate that by converting our fleet to EV's we will reduce our carbon emissions by up to 130 metric tonnes of CO2 annually.

Charging at night means cleaner energy. Overall energy consumption is lower during the night, and that is when wind generation tends to be more prominent in the energy mix. 

By charging at night, electric vehicles can help the consumption of greater amounts of renewables. This also acts as a buffer to stabilise our electricity system.
