Glenveagh was delighted to visit the pupils of St Francis of Assisi National School for a construction site safety talk in October. We spoke with the students about how to stay safe when they are near building sites and why these are places for the workers and not for playing. It was a great opportunity to remind the children that building sites can be dangerous places and that they should always keep a safe distance from them.
The pupils were engaged as we went through the Sam and Sue construction site safety book and they asked brilliant questions during the visit. Every pupil went home with a key ring, a pencil and a hi-vis vest to wear when playing outside or on the way to and from school. With the darker evenings on the way, the vests will help the children stay visible.
Thank you to the teachers and staff for making us so welcome and a huge well done to all the pupils for listening so well.
