How we invest in charities

Our support for local communities is wide-ranging, and we are invested as a company and as volunteers in charitable giving, raising funds, and donating our time and support Irish charities to improve the quality of life in our communities. We are proud partners of Barretstown, who offer life-changing therapeutic programmes for children and families affected by serious illness and Women’s Aid, the national organisation working to prevent and address the impact of domestic violence and abuse.

We are also cornerstone sponsors of Momentum Games, a corporate fitness competition designed to test endurance and team collaboration, while raising much-needed funds for the Dublin Simon Community.

Charitable Giving

Through the work of our Employee Network Groups, Glenveagh also actively supports several charitable partners including UNICEF, the Irish Cancer Society and the Mater Foundation’s Breast Cancer Awareness programme. We regularly raise funds for a variety of appeals and match-fund contributions to maximise impact with all proceeds gratefully received by our charity partners.

Employee Fundraisers

The “Hometown Heroes fund” is an Employee Community Fund initiative where employees are encouraged to apply for funding to support local charities. From community playgrounds to all-abilities teams and youth sports, we’ve proudly contributed over €10,000 to causes close to our employees’ hearts. The response has been incredibly positive, with team members sharing how much it means to be able to give back to their local area in a real and impactful way. 

Our goal is to make the Employee Community Fund an annual initiative, offering up for staff to nominate a charity they are passionate about.

Barretstown transforms the lives of children and families affected by serious illness through life-changing therapeutic programmes. At their unique residential site in County Kildare, and in hospitals and schools across Ireland, Barretstown helps children rediscover the magic of childhood in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Their medically endorsed programmes rebuild confidence, self-esteem and coping skills, empowering children to step beyond the limitations of illness.
