How we invest in education

Glenveagh takes an active role in promoting safety awareness by organizing health and safety talks in schools across Ireland. These sessions are designed to educate students about the importance of safety measures in and around construction sites. By engaging young minds through interactive presentations and real-life examples, we aim to instill a culture of safety from an early age, reinforcing our commitment to community development and responsible practice.

Our regular donations support extra-curricular activities and fundraising appeals, especially for vulnerable children or those with special needs. And since we know a thing or two about building, we’re always keen to lend a hand with upgrading school gardens and outdoor spaces.

We have helped with wildflower meadows and outdoor garden upgrades in schools in Donabate, Tyrrelstown, Leixlip, Swords and Mullingar. As well as donating our time, these projects give us a chance to engage with local schools and their pupils in a meaningful way.

Glenveagh is committed to a sustainable future, so with the help of our schools' partner we help fund educational biodiversity programmes for schools. Coined Nature Hero Bootcamps, our school partner Biodiversity in Schools, hosts workshops on our behalf creating hands-on activities for kids to learn about sustainability, and for schools to support their nature education programmes. You can see the fruits of our work in the student orchard at Donabate Community School, where we helped students revamp their playground. We have also recently launched the 

 in association with Biodiversity in Schools, giving schools nationwide the chance to win a €10,000 school garden upgrade.

We’re keeping an eye out for the stars of tomorrow. As well as providing work experience and mentoring through our school outreach programme, we’re expanding our range of TY programme and placements for second and third level students. We also partner with third level institutions such as Maynooth University on community programmes. We’ll continue to create opportunities for young people to be part of our future.

The Nature Hero Awards are delivered in partnership with Biodiversity in Schools, Ireland’s nature education organisation for young people. Their aim is to teach young people across Ireland about biodiversity and get them actively involved in nature conservation through impactful education programmes.
