Approx. 4.5 acres of public open space, featuring pocket parks, walking and cycling tracks, with connections to neighbouring areas and access for residents and the wider community.

Construction works in Baile na Móna are currently underway, with the first new homes expected to be completed around the end of 2025.

 This will result in creation of a total of 274 units with a mix of houses, duplexes and apartments.

We will continue to work closely with the Swords community in minimising the impact of construction work.

The Affordable Housing Scheme allows eligible individuals to purchase homes at below-market prices, with qualification based on purchasing ability.

Affordable Purchase

This is housing provided by a local authority or an independent Approved Housing Body (AHB) to people who are unable to afford accommodation within their own means.

Social Housing

What is Affordable and Social Housing?

Affordable Purchase Housing in the Baile na Móna Community will be allocated through processes established by Fingal County Council. 

If you qualify for the scheme, the local authority may provide between 5% and 40% of the cost of your home, in return for the same percentage of equity. The specific percentage equity provided is determined by each individual local authority. You must repay the local authority’s stake after 40 years or if you decide to sell your home, but you can always pay it back any time before this.
