Our support for local communities spans a wide range of people who need a helping hand, from children to older people. We're invested as a company and as volunteers in charitable giving, raising funds, and donating our time and continue to support two renowned Irish charities to improve the quality of life in our communities. We are proud partners of two renowned national charities; ALONE assisting older people to age at home as well as supporters of the Jack and Jill Foundation, who provide in-home nursing care for sick children and respite support for their families.

These partnerships align with our long-standing commitment to giving back to the community and join our existing support for the Early Learning Initiative, a National College of Ireland educational programme that helps local families on their educational journeys in inner city areas. By working with our partners at local level, Glenveagh continues to build and develop long-term programmes that positively impact people’s lives.

ALONE is a national organisation that does incredible work in helping older people live safely and securely at home. Loneliness, illness, or poverty are often barriers to enjoying fulfilling home life. ALONE are on hand with a variety of support services and assistive technology. They always go the extra mile in nurturing the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of their people. We're with them every step of the way when it comes to adding value to their residents' lives. Since 2022, we have organised various staff volunteering days at the ALONE community in Willie Bermingham Place with volunteers from across the business helping with painting, gardening, and general maintenance. These volunteer days are part of programme of activity throughout the year in support of this very worthwhile cause.

More about Jack & Jill

The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation is a nationwide charity that offers support, advocacy and an in-home nursing service to help children and their families under the age of 6 years with complex medical needs. In 2024, it will take €7.5 million to fund and provide vital home nursing care service and end-of-life support for Jack and Jill families. To date, Jack and Jill is funding and delivering in-home respite to over 400 children, across the country, more children than we’ve ever had under our care in 25 years. Our vision is that all families with children who need our care can access us seven days a week, across the country. Taking a typically innovative approach to fundraising, Glenveagh work closely with the Jack & Jill team on their many worthwhile initiatives including regular shop takeover volunteering days raising valuable funds for this vital cause. 

The Jack & Jill Foundation

Glenveagh is proud of the part our people play in the communities we serve. We actively promote our employee volunteering programme with our charity and educational partners. It's about getting involved and staying connected. That’s why all our staff receive one day of volunteering annually to support charitable initiatives throughout the country. You'll find our volunteers immersed in projects in the local economy and educational sectors. We're building skills, developing relationships, and laying the foundations for thriving communities. Our work is mutually beneficial too. Our volunteers might be supporting charity partners in fundraising, card-sending, or putting in a shift at the local charity shop. In return, we're nourishing our own personal and professional development by sharing new skills and gaining a deeper understanding of what makes each local economy tick. Over the last year, our employees raised over €11,000 for our nominated charities as well as provided industry expertise, and supported numerous ongoing volunteer programmes.
