Dreamer's Space, a free workshop for young people, with artist Orla Kelly, is happening on the 31st of July at Draíocht Blanchardstown.

Dreamer's Space, a Workshop for Young People

As part of its workshop programme for young people, Draíocht, Blanchardstown's theatre, gallery and arts centre, has been creating a dreamer's space; a place for young people to explore art and creativity, with the help of artist Orla Kelly. Next Wednesday 31st July, Orla will be introducing print techniques to young people between 14 and 18 years old, in what promises to be a great workshop.

Tell Your Own Story with Print

Using dry print techniques, participants will create their own visual stories via print. The workshop will start with a tour of the artwork in the Ground Floor Gallery, taking in the patterns, papers and fabrics on show. Orla Kelly will then guide the young people in using a printing press to produce their own creations.

There are a number of different Dreamer's Space events on throughout the summer, with Draíocht guaranteeing that "with a mixture of book-in sessions for all ages and self-led explorations for young people and families there is something for everyone to explore."

It's worthwhile to check out Draíocht's What's On for other Dreamer's Spaces events happening in the coming weeks.

Next Wednesday's event for 14 to 18 year olds is from 1 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. and is free to attend. Places are limited so make sure to book in advance, by contacting Draíocht's Box Office on 01 885 2622.
