Wander historic Clonsilla and the Royal Canal on Sunday morning with a guided walk for Heritage Week 2024.

Guided Canal Walk in Dublin 15

Ease into Sunday with a guided walk in the capable hands of the Clonsilla and Porterstown Heritage Society as they take you along part of the Royal Canal. Construction of the Royal Canal began in 1790 and in the years since it's become central to the fabric of Dublin 15.

The walk on Sunday 18th of August will begin in Clonsilla and finds it way to Porterstown via the "Deep Sinking", a unique area of the canal. Along the way you'll hear of missing crown jewels, horse poisoning and a famine walk among the many stories associated with the canal.

So wear a good pair of walking shoes and dress for the weather, for what looks like a lovely way to start your Sunday!
