Music taking centre stage for Culture Night in Navan.
"Meath Meets South Africa: A Night of Cultural Fusion" looks like it'll be a fun-filled event to go to on Friday 20th September, as part of Navan's Culture Night events. The cultural exchange between Meath and South Africa promises an evening of South African sounds and performances and workshops with fabulous food tastings along the way. Not to be missed!
The event takes place in the Solstice Arts Centre in Navan from 5:30-7.30pm; a perfect way to start the weekend.
If you're planning the evening out this Culture Night, drop down to the Royal Meath bar in Navan where the Merry Men will be entertaining with a selection of tunes and song. This event is on from 8:00-11:00pm, so plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere and music.
Following the One Night For All theme in Navan, the Solstice Arts Centre will also be running a second event between 5:00 and 7:00pm, hosted by the Cultur Women's Group. The event is described as a "dynamic cultural festival that brings together a rich tapestry of arts and traditions from the community". It also promises "enthralling African artist dance performance, lively Samba drumming and dance performance, mesmerizing poem recitations, enchanting accordion music, intricate Ukrainian toy crafting, and diverse cultural exhibitions showcasing various ethnic minority groups and cultures". If that's not enough to whet your appetite, there will also be an open mic element along the way.
