Glenveagh lend support to Navan CFR
Community First Responders perform a vital role in communities, with a dedicated group of trained volunteers on-call to support people in specific emergency situations. Glenveagh are delighted to support Navan Community First Responders (Navan CFR) and we were proud to present them with five kit bags, including defibrillators, to help them in their work. Navan CFR are a great community based group who perform a special role in their locality and their work is truly valued.
Navan Community First Responders (CFR) are volunteers who are trained to attend certain types of emergency calls in the area where they work or live. Their aim is to reach a potentially life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes before the ambulance arrives.
The role of CFRs is to help stabilise the patients to provide appropriate care; this may include administering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and/or use of a defibrillator, until the more highly skilled paramedics arrive on scene to take over the treatment.
Navan CRF are a team in operation for a number of years providing a skilled first responder service. They also provide a community training and public access defibrillator programme. New members are always welcome.
