Backing the Future: St. Colmcilles Nursery Academy Gets a Boost

Glenveagh is thrilled to announce a new sponsorship of St. Colmcilles GFC Nursery Academy, reinforcing its commitment to youth development and community sport in Swords. This collaboration is a boost for young players, parents, and the community as a whole — supporting Gaelic games at their most formative level.

    Building from the Ground Up

The Nursery Academy is the entry point for the club's youngest players to discover Gaelic football in a fun, safe and encouraging environment. Every Saturday morning from 10:30 am at the club grounds, children are invited to join in friendly games and basic skill‑sessions, all in a warm, supportive group setting. No prior experience is needed; the emphasis is on enjoyment, basic skills, and playing together.

With Glenveagh coming on board, the academy will benefit from brand new jerseys that will make the training sessions even more rewarding.

    Community, Growth & Well‑Being

Glenveagh’s decision to sponsor the club reflects more than just support for sport; it underscores a commitment to nurturing community bonds and wellbeing. For many parents, the Academy is not just about football — it’s about their children learning teamwork, social skills, self‑confidence, and forging friendships.

    Looking Ahead

Thanks to the support from Glenveagh Homes, the St. Colmcilles Nursery Academy is set to be even stronger and more accessible. As the children grow, so too will their love of Gaelic games and their connection with the club. This sponsorship lays a solid foundation for success, both on and off the pitch.
