Ardgillan Castle to host Heritage Week Talk on the historic Dublin-Drogheda rail line.
Heritage Week 2024 at Ardgillan Castle kicks off with a Saturday afternoon talk on the pivotal Dublin to Drogheda Railway Line. It wasn't just a means of getting from A to B, but a crucial component in the history of Fingal County and Balbriggan.
Historian Jonathan Beaumont will bring us through the fascinating history of the railway line, including the how the line through the Ardgillan Demesne in 1884, changed the area forever. This talk is perfect for anyone with an interest in local history and for anyone who'd like to know more about Ardgillan and Balbriggan.
Dublin to Drogheda Railway Talk with Jonathan Beaumont takes place on Saturday 17th of August at 2.00pm in the drawing room of Ardgillan Castle. The event is free and open to everyone!
Parking is in the main carpark but there are also spaces available in Ardgillan Castle's lower carpark, closer to the castle, which is reserved for visitors over 70 and for wheelchair users.
