The Foundations Programme is a partnership between Glenveagh, one of
Ireland’s leading homebuilders, and the specialist contractors who employ you.
You are employed by your contractor from day one. They give you the
job, the pay, and the on-site supervision and mentorship. Glenveagh and
NUA provide supplemental training in modern methods of construction
(MMC), giving you skills and knowledge that go well beyond the standard
apprenticeship.
That combination is what sets the Foundations Programme apart: current
trade skills with future-focused knowledge, backed by a large, leading
homebuilder that is at the forefront of construction and manufacturing
innovation in Ireland.
By 2030, the people who come through this programme will be among
the most capable tradespeople in the industry - trained not only in the
craft, but in the methods of construction that are transforming how Ireland
builds. This is how we create a pipeline of talent ready to contribute to
Ireland’s housing target of delivering 300,000 homes by 2030.
Every Glenveagh home follows a journey - from design to manufacture
to ultimately handing over a set of keys to an excited new homeowner.
Modern methods of construction make that journey faster, safer, and
more precise at every stage.
Glenveagh’s ambition is to be the first Irish homebuilder to deliver
manufacturing-led housing delivery at scale. NUA is how we do it: our
three manufacturing facilities in Carlow, Arklow and Dundalk produce
timber frame, light gauge steel, and façade systems. Today, approximately
40% of each home is built in the factory before it reaches a site. By 2030,
we are targeting 70%+, with NUA scaling to approximately 2,750 units
annually.
As an apprentice gaining experience on Glenveagh sites and in NUA
facilities, you will learn your trade in this environment - one that shifts
build value from the site to the factory, reduces exposure to weather and
programme risk, and leads the market on quality, certification and delivery
certainty.
