A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

Adequate levels of housing are critical to Ireland’s future. And how we deliver the homes that Ireland needs is changing.

At Glenveagh, we’re making considerable investments in our business to deliver the most modern homes possible - homes that are high quality, more affordable, more cost effective to run, and built at scale. And skilled people, both in trades and modern methods of construction, will be critical to delivering these.

The industry I started in looks very different to today’s - it’s now safer, more digital, more precise. The change has been enormous, and it is only the start. In my view, it is one of the most exciting times to be starting out in a career in construction.
A growing share of every Glenveagh home is now built in our facilities before it reaches a site. We’re transitioning to a genuinely manufacturing-led model of homebuilding, delivering precision-engineered, sustainable homes consistently.

The Foundations Programme will teach the skills needed for this modern way of building homes.

This is not a short-term opportunity. The capacity is there, the investment is there, and the industry needs people who understand both the craft and the modern methods behind it. Now is the time to invest in a career that offers longevity,
continuous development, challenge, and purpose.

By running the Foundations Programme with our delivery partners across key trades, we are offering a solid grounding in the variety of skills you will need as you embark on your career in construction. You get a job with an established contractor and the full backing of Glenveagh and NUA behind your training.
Our ambition is to bring people into this industry who can flourish in it, and who can become the future leaders in an area that is pivotal to Ireland’s prosperity and competitiveness.

The opportunity is considerable. If you are considering a trade, consider it on these terms: a modern, technical career, in an exciting industry that needs you and is moving quickly.

Marian Harkin, TD, Minister of State

THE FOUNDATION PROGRAMME

Ireland is building at record levels, and skilled tradespeople are in high demand. A craft qualification is a shrewd investment in your construction career

A qualification you own outright. NFQ Level qualification, nationally recognised, yours for life.

Earn while you qualify. Employed and paid by your contractor from day one.

Strong demand. Ireland has the ambition, the capital, and the pipeline. Skilled trades turn that into homes.

Skilled, technical work. Digital design, factory manufacture, and precision assembly now sit alongside traditional craft.

Future-proof your skills. Through this programme’s partnership with Glenveagh, you gain exposure to MMC techniques and digital tools that will define the next generation of homebuilding.

You complete the full qualification for your trade through your
employer. Alongside it, the Foundations Programme adds:

Development days in Glenveagh or NUA manufacturing facilities

Modern building systems relevant to your trade, from timber frame to façades

Digital construction technology, including drone surveying and quality systems

Structured experience on live Glenveagh developments

A toolkit to start, and progressive financial support throughout

You finish with both: a nationally recognised craft qualification and practical MMC experience - giving you a competitive edge in a rapidly changing industry.

“The future workforce will be broader than the traditional image of construction.”

Tony McLoughlin,
Chief Operating Officer, Glenveagh

HOW THE PROGRAMME WORKS

You are employed by one of Glenveagh’s delivery partners - established specialist contractors who build our homes. They give you the job, the mentor, and the day-to-day supervision. You are their employee throughout.

Behind them stands Glenveagh and NUA providing supplemental MMC training, development days, and guidance.

Modern methods of construction: Off-site manufacture, standardised design, and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA).

Digital technology: Digital modelling, drone surveying, and quality and inspection systems.

Innovation: Advanced energy systems, lightweight structures and materials that make homes quicker to build and cheaper to run.

Safety and quality: Factory conditions alongside site work, including tighter tolerances and consistent quality checks.

APPRENTICESHIPS

The Foundations Programme supports apprentices across every trade that Glenveagh builds with. You complete the national apprenticeship through your employer, and the programme adds to it.
