The Irish Chamber Orchestra and saxophonist Jess Gillam will join forces on Friday 7th February at The Lark in Balbriggan, to create an evening of great music spanning a range of genres. Gillam, a BBC Young Musician finalist and youngest ever soloist to perform at Last Night of the Proms, is a musician with a vast repertoire. A BRITs award winner and BBC Radio presenter, the 26 year-old is widely regarded as an exceptional talent. Gillam will play with the Irish Chamber Orchestra featuring Katherine Hunka, in what promises to be a concer of strings and sax to please diverse musical tastes.
From Bach to Bowie, as the name suggests, will see Hunka, Gillam and the Irish Chamber Orchestra take on music spanning the centuries, from work by the Barogue maestro to a cultural and musical icon, with the work of the late David Bowie. If you like, classical, folk and rock and lots in between, The Lark is the place to come for this once-off concert.
